IT IS HARD TO BE SAVED

1 Peter 4:16-19

However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. 17 For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And,

“If it is hard for the righteous to be saved,
what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”[a]

19 So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good. (bold print added)

KJV

18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

Wait a minute. I thought it was easy to be saved. I thought you say the “sinner’s prayer”, the “magic words”, and you’re saved, right? And then “once saved, always saved”. That’s the way it’s supposed to work. That’s the way we were taught. That’s the way we taught others. It’s so easy!

Or is it?

Are we truly “saved”? Are we saved once and then we’re covered for life? That’s basically how I’ve been taught. No matter what you do, God will forgive you. That is true. God forgives. He’s a loving and merciful God. By saying the sinner’s prayer, do we have a “get out of jail free card”? Does that simply protect us from spending eternity in hell?

In 1 Peter 4:18 the Bible tells us that it is hard for even the righteous to be saved. It doesn’t sugar coat the process, and it is a process. You can’t say one prayer and you’re in. It goes beyond that. Way beyond.

You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
These passages refer to the process of being saved. Whoever stands firm in their faith until the end will be saved. If we believe and are baptized we will be saved. The message of the cross is the power of God to those that are being saved.
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Another part of the process of being saved is repentance. Sometimes we commit a really bad sin and we know it. We ask God to forgive us and, by his grace and mercy, he does. But do we really know every one of our sins?
Psalm 139:23-24
23 Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
Satan is very good at making sin look harmless and attractive. That’s why it’s tempting. Even Jesus was tempted. Satan was an angel of light created by God. He was beautiful! He made his choice to sin against God and is now bound to spend eternity in hell. He knows how to be beautiful and attractive even though he is evil. Sometimes we sin and don’t even realize it. Sometimes society tells us something is ok and we become desensitized.
The Bible is very clear on many sins and I’ve addressed some in previous posts. We have the 10 commandments, yet with every abortion, a life is taken and it is accepted in society. Today, many of these sins are celebrated! But there are more subtle sins that we don’t even think about.
One night, right before falling asleep, God revealed to me that santa is satan. It sounded kind of silly at first. But when I thought about it, it all made sense. At Christmas time, santa is the focus, not Jesus. Sure, I always took my kids to church but we always came home to presents from santa. We hung stockings, left him cookies and milk, saw him at the mall, gave him money outside of Walgreen’s and always participated in the “magic” of the season. My children knew we celebrated Jesus birthday. They knew the original Christmas story. But the focus was on santa. He always sees you, rewards you if you’re good, punishes you if you’re bad, loves everyone, can be everywhere at once, it’s so similar. But we’ve been sold this poor substitute of a deity to celebrate on Jesus birthday. How can santa be greater than JESUS?! Let me tell you, I fell asleep repenting, groveling for forgiveness, for my terrible, egregious sin. How could I fall for such a thing? How could I lead my children astray, right into the devil’s lap?
I was still repenting in the morning when I woke up. My point being, we have to continually ask God to search us for sin and offensive ways and reveal them to us so we can repent and continue the process of being saved. Why? God does not allow sin in heaven. Let me repeat that. GOD DOES NOT ALLOW SIN IN HEAVEN.
Luke 13:23-24
23 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”

He said to them, 24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

God does not want any to perish but for all to come to repentance. WE are the ones that must repent. We must be diligent, keep in constant communication with God, listen for his words regarding our lives, and repent when we need to.

As my sister would say, “Even the saved need saving.”

The Struggle Is Real

Ephesians 6:11-13

11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

It has been quite some time since I last posted. I’m not falling by the wayside. My struggle is against powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of evil. Satan and his minions are doing everything in their power to keep me from sharing God’s word. I have a traumatic brain injury. This happened a few years ago, I think. It affects my memory, although not as much now. My problem is, I can’t remember how to navigate this website to write new blogs. When you see my absence, that’s when I need your prayers. I have been praying for hours that God will show me where I can write and publish, and to be honest, I’m not sure I can find it again on my own.

One day, several years ago, I was home alone. I walked into my bathroom to enter my bedroom, but as soon as I set one foot in the bathroom, my adrenaline started pumping and I braced for something bad to happen. I had my tablet and phone in my hands and when I regained consciousness on the bathroom floor, those items were stacked neatly on the bathroom counter, which was an indication to me that I didn’t trip and fall.

I felt my forehead and found a goose egg forming at my brow. My glasses had been knocked off and I hurt everywhere. I was confused and didn’t know what happened. I tried to get on my knees to get myself up but the pain was so great that I couldn’t do it. I found my phone and tried to text my husband to come home from work. I couldn’t form the words and didn’t know why. Some time later, I managed to get a message to him but he was on the road and would take some time getting home.

I knew I had to get into bed so I belly crawled my way into the bedroom, the entire way repeating Phillipians 4:13 ~ ‘I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.’ Over and over until I pulled myself up on the bed with my arms. I climbed in where I knew I was safe and waited for my husband.

My insurance company had illegally cancelled my policy and, being in the healthcare profession, I knew all the expenses that would come with a 911 call. My sweet husband stayed by my side all night and watched me.

I had dark, dark bruises the length of my leg, on my abdomen, and the biggest black eye you’ve ever seen to go along with my massive goose egg. My injuries were not consistent with a fall and there was nothing at all to hit my head on. I was battered, beaten. I knew deep down that demons came to attack me. They’ve attacked me before and I’ve seen them in my house before.

My memory was gone. I couldn’t remember things from 5 minutes ago. I probably put 10 layers of deodorant on every morning because I couldn’t remember if I had put it on or not. I couldn’t remember if I had just eaten a meal. While I was sitting in the chair at the hair salon, I asked my friend if she was going to cut my hair even though she had just finished cutting it.

At this time, I had just started back to school online. I wasn’t about to drop out. I had several computer screens open at the same time and took pictures of screens that I needed to remember. It took me 3 times as long to do the work. It was so difficult, but I prayed and, by God’s grace, I continued to get A’s.

I started this website so I could spread the gospel. I am more determined than ever to overcome the obstacles that satan throws in my way. I have God on my side and I live for him. The devil still tries to block me using my memory loss, and sometimes it takes me a while, but I talk to God and he always leads the way.

So, dear friends, stand firm in Jesus. Bad times and trouble will come but God is with us ~ who can be against! Satan will try hard to stop you but greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world!

Grow in Grace

2 Peter 3:16-18

His (Paul) letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

17 Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

It seems the Bible gets distorted in many ways these days. A favorite of those who don’t like to hear someone quote the Bible is “Judge not, lest ye be judged!” Another way the Bible is distorted is by paraphrasing. “God says we should love everyone so I can love who I want!” And then there’s literalism. “Nowhere in the Bible does it say abortion is a sin, so it’s ok!”

The Bible says ignorant and unstable people do this and it will lead to their destruction. It is a proven mass control tactic that if you say a lie enough times, and get enough people to repeat it, people will believe it. This has been going on for years, not just in our own community, but globally. It has been the destruction of many, many people. Take Venezuela, for example. They were a very stable, well off country of wealth and jobs and happy homes, much like the U.S. Someone told them they needed Socialism so everyone could benefit. The people were taxed so much, they couldn’t keep up. The working class didn’t work very hard because their money just went to other non working people. Businesses went under, people were paid off, now they’re feeding their children rotten meat and praying they don’t die.

The lie of the left is that they will help the poor and down trodden. How come women can only get assistance for their children if there’s no man in the house? Shouldn’t the children be encouraged to have a dad? Would children turn out differently if a father or father figure was present in the home to help raise the children? Why wouldn’t the left enable this to happen? They’re not being helpful at all, they’re being controlling.

“My body, my choice!” That’s a big lie. Jeremiah 1:5 says,

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew[a] you,
    before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

God knew us as a set apart individual before he formed us in the womb. We weren’t “pregnancy matter,” we weren’t an unfeeling, unknowing blob of tissue, we were made, chosen, and set apart by God!!
In this world of distortion, “be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position.” It can be so easy to be sucked in and go along with the crowd. Say what everyone else is saying so you don’t stand out. We are called to be a light in the darkness. Where there is distortion and lies we need to be a light. God tells us in Matthew 5:16

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

GOD WILL NOT BE MOCKED

GOD will not be mocked, Virginia. His wrath will fall on you for turning your backs on Him.

Deuteronomy 22:5

A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this.

Hebrews 10:26-27

26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

But they mocked God’s messengers, despised his words and scoffed at his prophets until the wrath of the Lord was aroused against his people and there was no remedy.

I Love You to Hell.

Ezekiel 3:18-19
When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.
19 But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you will have saved yourself.

One of the devil’s biggest lies that the world believes, and is even preached in churches, is that God loves and accepts everyone. That’s true ~ partially. The rest of the story is we have to REPENT, ASK FORGIVENESS, and FOLLOW JESUS. If we stay in our sinful lifestyle without doing that, we will not be afforded the gift of Jesus Christ, the gift of salvation, and our consequences will be eternal death or the raging fire.

Hebrews 10:26-27

26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

How is this our concern? As long as we’re straight with our Savior, we’re good, right? Wrong. In Ezekiel 3:18, God clearly tells us to WARN or SPEAK OUT to people to dissuade them or turn them from their wicked ways to save their lives. If we choose not to WARN them, their blood is on our hands. In other words, GOD WILL HOLD US ACCOUNTABLE. If we do warn people about sin, God knows we have done our job.

Does this mean we should go around pointing fingers, throwing “guilt darts” at people, and condemning people? Absolutely not. We can share God’s Word in love and compassion along with the plan of salvation without being judgmental. These are, after all, God’s words.

James 4:17
If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.

Some things are sins for some people but not for others. I used to walk into church 5 minutes late, sit down, and read the bulletin. That doesn’t sound very sinful, does it? One day, God showed me that by doing that, I was taking away from worshiping Him. It was also distracting for me and those around me. I needed to stop this behavior because, for me, it was sinful. There is nowhere in the Bible that says “Thou shalt not read the bulletin during worship!” But in asking God to show me my sins and listening to Him speak, I can see what my personal sins are. We all have personal sins. We need to ask God to show us and then listen so we can ask forgiveness and turn from our sins.

However, there are clearly specific sins that God addresses in the Bible and how he feels about people who engage in these sins. Please understand that I am not, in any way, pointing fingers, condemning, or casting stones at anyone. I am a sinner. I have given in to the devil’s temptations and I want to repent and ask forgiveness. Sometimes I struggle with that and need God’s help in getting to that repentance place in my heart. He will help us if we ask! Some people, and even churches, preach that as long as you love someone with a “pure heart”, it doesn’t matter if it’s the same sex. God wants you to be happy and have love in your life. He wouldn’t send you to hell for that, would He? How sweet. That sounds like something God would say, doesn’t it? 💞 NO!!

Leviticus 18:22

You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination. (bold print added)

Galatians 5:19-21

When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. (bold print added)

Hebrews 10:26-27

If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. (bold print added)

Yes, I put Hebrews 10:26-27 in here twice because it’s that important.

I was having a conversation with a mother of a homosexual teen on a social media site (forgive me if you’ve heard this before) and she was believing the devil’s lie. She insisted she would not tell her young daughter that God would send her to hell for loving who she loved. I gave her these verses and told her that she could tell her daughter that God doesn’t mean what He says and He doesn’t do what he promises. We KNOW He does! God never fails! But that goes for the consequences, too. He doesn’t want to send anyone to hell but He can not allow sin into heaven. (2 Peter 3:9)

So in our efforts not to offend people we allow them to continue in their sinful lifestyles without warning them of God’s consequences. Basically, we’re telling our friends and acquaintances that we would rather not offend them or make them feel bad and allow them to go to hell than to tell them lovingly that God has a life for them that’s filled with joy and peace but they must give up their sins. It doesn’t have to be a harsh message. It can be given with love and compassion and if they’re not interested, we let it go and continue to pray for them. It’s that simple. It might change their life. It might change their eternity.

There are so many other issues addressed in the Bible ~ turning away from God, dis-honoring your parents (which is a major issue these days), transgenderism, idol worship, the list goes on and on. Then there are the personal sins like reading the bulletin during worship. The fact is, the road to hell is a highway and many, many people are on it, even if they think they’re not. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven. (Matthew 19:24) Rich doesn’t just pertain to money. There are many ways to be rich.

We need to be in constant prayer and communication with God. (1 Thessalonians 5:17) We need to repent from our sins daily. (2 Peter 3:9) We need to follow Jesus. (John 10:27)

God Bless

WHERE THE DEVIL PROWLS

1 Peter 5:8
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

These are, indeed, the last days. The enemy knows his time is short and is working overtime to thwart Christians’ work here on earth before Jesus comes to take us home. But where is he? Where does he prowl? We see him in places like terrorist countries and countries who threaten nuclear war. We see him in sexual predators and mass murderers. There is plenty of evil to be seen in the world today. But do we see the enemy in our every day lives? Does satan, the father of lies, make comments on social media? Naw, really? He’s got bigger fish to fry, right? Maybe not…

Yesterday, as I was scrolling through a popular social media site, I saw a story of a young man whose treatment wasn’t working. The young man could get treatment in another state but needed help getting there. A Go Fund Me page was started. I scrolled through the comments, reading encouraging words and promising prayers for healing, when I came upon an odd comment from a person who simply said that it was time to give up on treatment and accept that, no matter what faith, the young man was transitioning to the next life. It wasn’t mean, it wasn’t rude, it was more like an accepting attitude. But something wasn’t right. I looked at this person’s page and saw that the information was private and secure but there were just a few pictures shown. There was nothing personal but there was a picture of our former president, a kitten, and a sign that said something like don’t let what happened to the Jews, happen to Islam. Curious. This was not a Christian, by any means so I wanted to say something meaningful yet non judgmental. I commented that our God could heal and our God could strengthen and then asked if this person thought they were God and were transitioning this young man to cross over. I left the site for about an hour and didn’t think about it again.

When I checked back on the social media site I noticed several comments after the one I posted. They were mostly comments of astonishment at how insensitive a person could be to tell the family to just accept the passing of their ailing loved one. I noticed an increase in boldness and hostility in the original commenter’s replies and came to a realization that there was no sense of compassion or caring in this person’s heart. This was not a person of God. This was a demon.

Annette Vandel

You’re not hiding anything yet you have a secured xx where no one can see anything. That’s right. I checked. Only evil has something to hide. And you’re the evil xXxX sympathizer and protector of a group of people who want to kill us. And by your words and pictures we can see you’re a demon straight from hell. I command you to shut your lying, deceitful, negative mouth and remove yourself now. I command you to go directly to the cross of JESUS CHRIST where you are subject to do as He commands! Jesus will command you back into the pits of hell from whence you came and you will be confined there! Now, GO!! IN THE HOLY AND POWERFUL NAME OF JESUS CHRIST OUR SAVIOR, REDEEMER, AND LORD!!!

Robin xXxX

I have seen you post stupid comments on these pages ya dumb lady. I have zero interest in looking at anything about you but unfortunately those of us who are sane have to see your stupid comments. Karma will get you before long.

Deb xXxX

“A. V”,lol. Thanks for stalking my personal xx page. You’re the Poster Child of why I’m techno-savvy n keep my page LOCKED from strangers. Keep praying dear for that kid ,not me. You don’t get to “Command” me to do anything,,,,lol. Thanks for the laughs. #TeteFutue.👹. (How is that dear hubby, Steve, is it? Of yours doing,,,,is he dead yet?)

I wasn’t sure what evil plan this demon had but I knew it had an evil purpose. I knew it had to be silenced because it was powerful amongst all the unsuspecting believers. I knew that only by the power of Jesus Christ could I accomplish anything. This demon had tried to intimidate me by calling my husband by name and mentioning his death. The demon claimed I didn’t have the authority to command it. The demon cursed at me in a foreign language ~ which is typical behavior for demons. But it was not effective on me because I am covered by the blood of the Lamb. The demon’s comments after that were nervous, weak, misspelled simple words, it apologized for misspelling simple words, it wrote “lol” at the end of each sentence. It’s whole demeanor had changed ~ nervous laughter, acting unafraid but obviously fearful, trying to appear threatening but failing miserably. It boasted about how many different languages it could curse in. It boasted about all the “bibles” it owned ~ Catholic bible, KJV, satanic bible, and the qur’an. My human reaction wanted to yell at the demon and tell it it was wrong and lying and evil but my training had taught me not to reason with a demon because they are not reasonable creatures. They fear God. I kept posting Bible verses ~ God’s words.

My final passage that I posted was from Revelation 20.

The Judgment of Satan

When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

The Judgment of the Dead

11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

This demon was tough. It was not leaving and I kept talking to Jesus as I posted more Bible verses. Jesus, help me. This demon is strong and won’t go. But you’re stronger. Call it to you so it has to go. That was my prayer. The demon replied to its judgment and sentence of the eternal lake of fire by telling me to keep posting verses because it wanted to distract people from praying for healing for the sick young man. This demon was trying to block prayers on social media!! I tried to post another verse but it wouldn’t let me. The whole conversation, all the comments, everything was gone. It had disappeared. It was deleted for good. Wow.

Today, I received a text from my daughter asking me if I was okay. I told her I was and asked her why she was asking. She told me that she had a very urgent sense to pray for me last night. She and her husband prayed for me for two hours without knowing why. She heard the voice of God and she obeyed and her husband obeyed without question even though it meant staying up until 1:00 in the morning. Praise God!! Thank you, Jesus!!

Satan is amongst us. He is within our midst. He is where we least expect him to be, disguised as maybe an inconsiderate old woman or a crotchety old man, maybe someone hiding behind a kitten or even somewhere in the church. We shouldn’t be paranoid but we must be careful and watchful, noticing the small details, the tell tale signs. Be on your guard. And we have to remember that we have the power and authority in the name of Jesus to break the strongholds of the enemy. Put on your armor daily (Ephesians 6:10-17). Say your spiritual warfare prayer. There’s one listed below. Call on the name of Jesus. He has already defeated the enemy. He has already won! God Bless!!

2 Peter 2:2, 3, 13

False Teachers and Their Destruction
2 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

13 They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done.

Matthew 10:28

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

~

God once gave me a vision. He showed me the consequences for abortionists and for those who advocate for abortion. There are people in the abortion business who sing the praises of abortion. They sell it as a good and healthy thing. They tell us it is safe when there are many cases of infection, maiming, even death during a “routine” abortion. Women have reported feeling cold and uncared for, empty. And almost always, the baby dies.

In the first passage above, God tells us that there will be false teachers who will fabricate stories to exploit women who are vulnerable. Men and women will follow them and their greed will rule them. It also says in 2 Peter 2:13 that they will be repaid for what they have done on earth.

My vision was of hell. It was very dark and hot. There was no comfort there. The demons surrounded the body, slowly, painfully ripping the arms and legs off. They then moved to the chest where they would smash their first through to the beating heart and yank it out. The final step was violently popping the head off, crushing the bones protecting their brain. The person being tortured in hell would suffer an abortion just as they did to the babies on earth. The second passage above says that there will be bodies in hell and they will hurt. We are to be afraid of the One who can destroy us in hell! But the worst part of this whole nightmare is, their body will reassemble and the abortion will start all over again. Forever.

There is no doubt in my mind that this is what is waiting for those who love abortion. Many women have been lied to and tricked into having abortions. They have followed the false teachers. Our God loves us so much that he knows our struggles and he holds our tears in his hands. Jesus died to pay for our sins. All we have to do is ask for forgiveness and turn from our wicked ways. God will forgive you. Please, repent while you still can. Time is running out. Jesus is coming soon! HALLELUJAH!!

What is “Woe”?

Isaiah 5:20

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
I am so sick of that game that grown men get paid millions of dollars to throw an oblong object around and jump all over each other. I’m so sick of it, I don’t even want to say the word! That is all I see anymore and it’s old. It’s gotten so out of hand that the one guy that exercised his right to stand for our National Anthem before his job, you all know who I’m talking about, is now getting bad press. He is shamed by his coach and team for NOT GOING ALONG WITH EVERYONE ELSE REGARDLESS OF HOW HE FEELS. Do you see the irony here? Do as I say, not as I do. Their entire argument and credibility just flew out of the stadium.
This entire country is divided over a game. That’s on top of race relations and political polarization. People turn their back on God and say the Bible is a myth. Yet, people, thousands of years ago, knew what the world would come to. Prophecy fulfilled. Now, the rebel is the good guy, the one who respectfully stands against all evil intentions of every single teammate. The rebel is the Christian conservative who wants to take a knee and pray with their team before a game. The rebel is a baker or florist who doesn’t want to provide a service for a lifestyle that their Almighty God finds an abomination.
“WOE to those who call evil good and good evil.” When God says “WOE to those,” I can’t say I know what he intends to do to “those”, but I know this ~ God doesn’t play. “WOE” is not a good thing. And when it’s coming from God, it’s probably hell to pay. God knows we know better. He knew Eve and Adam knew better. That’s why they were severely punished and thrown out of paradise, allowed to suffer for the rest of their lives. And God LOVED them. But the devil came upon them looking brilliant and beautiful and told them that what was wrong, what God told them not to do, was right, it was a good thing to do. How easily we fall into his trap.
Father, God, help us to keep our hearts and minds focused on you. You are a good, good Father and we love you. Open our eyes to any evil plans the enemy has in store for us and give us strength to stand firm in our faith. In Jesus name.

Restore Relationships

The proverbs of Solomon: A wise son bring joy to his father, but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.
King Solomon was the wisest king ever. People came to him with all kinds of problems they couldn’t solve. He always helped them find a solution. King Solomon knew that it was important for children to have good relationships with their parents. Good relationships would be beneficial for the parents, the adult children, and the grandchildren.  The grandchildren are shown how to respect their elders. The adult children can help the parents as they get older. The parents can pass along wisdom and tradition to the younger folks. Good relationships also reduce stress which is key in, not only mental and emotional well-being, but physical health, as well.
There was a time when aging parents would move in with their children and they would all help each other. As technology increased and people started living longer healthier lives, older parents preferred to live independently. But now the family unit has become even more disconnected.
Many people I know have children who have turned their back on their parents for varying reasons. A lot of people don’t know what those reasons are. All communication and hope for any dialogue has been cut off. Grandparents no longer are permitted to see their grandchildren and grandchildren don’t know who their grandparents are. The benefits of good relationships have been lost.
This seems more and more common every day and increasingly acceptable by this generation. To the aging parents, it’s heart wrenching. To the grandchildren, they’ll never know the special love of their grandparents. For the adult children, they will someday realize what they’ve done to destroy precious bonds that God put in place for the joy and well-being of generations.
I have a grandson I’ve never met. I have no idea why. I was sent a checklist of tasks and conditions that must be completed to my child’s satisfaction if i ever want a chance at possibly seeing my grandchildren again. But that’s not love. That’s manipulation and I won’t play that game. The thing is, during this power struggle that my child feels entitled to, my grandson will never be a newborn again. He’ll never take his first steps or say his first words again. Many, many grandparents are missing out on their grandchildren’s first experiences. I know my friends are heartbroken. This is a trend that has to be turned around if for no one else, for the sake of the grandchildren.
Father, please bring families back together. Open the doors of communication, understanding, and forgiveness. Restore relationships and renew bonds. In Jesus name.
